1. Q: Why do they turn into dogs and cats? Are there any exceptions?
A: When people first inhabited the island long ago the only means of transportation was by foot. Though the island is not incredibly large, it is still about 25 miles from one coast to the next. The walking took a toll on their feet, but they are strong people and never complained. So, God rewarded them so that any person born upon the island will have the gift of four legs. Dogs are naturally more masculine so men turn into dogs. And women are like cats, feminine. This way they could travel quicker and easier.
No men can shift into cats and no women into dogs. Their animal shift will resemble their overall appearance and reflect their personality as well.
You can only have this trait if: 1. You were born directly on the island, 2. A parent was a Tropaian native with the gift.
2. Q: What abilities are they born with and are any more powerful than others? Why do they have these abilities anyway?
A: All the available abilities are listed in the rules section. Some of the powers may be weaker to certain types of powers and stronger against others though there is not a lot of difference. The gifts really can't be used directly against one another. They only enhance a person if they get into an argument.
They have these abilities of powers because when God saw how the first gift did not make the people change he felt he should reward them again. He knew the Tropaian's would soon lose their way, but it was not a temptation to do so. The Tropaian's were beginning to believe they were better than everyone else, but as they soon found out...they really aren't any better than the average person.
3. Do I have to believe in God to be a member?
A: Absolutely not. You can believe in whatever you wish. The God mentioned and worshiped by the people was not originally intended to be the same God that Christians look up to, but when all was said and finished...it has become just that. We encourage everyone to have "good guys" and "bad guys". Just because you have a "good guy" doesn't mean you have to mention anything of the God. If you want to avoid the topic in character...then feel free to do so.
4. I don't get the plot. What is it about?
A: Basically good vs. evil. (Like most plots) The good guys are just trying to live peacefully following moral lives. The bad guys are causing trouble and trying to ruin the island by taking it over and brutalizing the good. And of course...they shift into cats/dogs and have superpowers.
